I wanted to lose weight, and I have. This is exactly what helped me to shed those kilos. Remember, this worked for me, but it doesn’t mean it would work for you. Use this as a cheat sheet as and when required.
- I controlled all my portions. Instead of eating two chapatis, I had one and increased my intake. For instance, I used to eat two chapatis and one curry. Now I made it one chapati, a curry and another dish which could be curd or maybe a fruit or nuts. Play it up.
- Drink water a minimum of 8 glasses a day. Water keeps you full and trusts me all those times when I thought that I was hungry, all I needed was water.
- Increase your fruit and vegetable intake. I made sure to have fruits daily and always included vegetables in my food, be it in the form of salad or sabzi.
- Switch to good food such as coconut water and fresh juices.
- Don’t eliminate anything. I take sugar every day, one full spoon in my coffee, and I still lost weight.
- Have more home-cooked meals. Make a burger, french fries, anything, and home-cooked meals to help you eat better.
- Work out whenever you like it. I would work out six days a week and keep Sunday as a time for my body to recover. I would walk for 1 hour a day, do yoga for 30 minutes a day, dance, or do home workouts.
- Do Surya namaskars at the number you can. It benefits you better for weight loss. I did 12 a day.
- Play with your salad. Tyr having more salad in your dinner, play it up such as peanut salad, boiled egg salad, etc.
- Sleep only after two hours of eating. If you ate your dinner at 8 pm, sleep by 10 pm.
- Use your bowl to control your portions.
- You can eat everything but eat within a limit. I still ate my favourite foods and lost weight. You eat one day and get on track the second day, as simple as it is.
- Check your weight once a week and not every day. Once you use the washroom, check your weight afterwards. It makes a huge difference.
- Drink water every morning as it helps in bowel movements.
- Have haldi milk (turmeric milk) as it heals your hormones better.
- Consume more ginger as it also contributes to good hormonal health. Add it to your tea or milk accordingly.
- Exercise well, and don’t hurt your body by doing rigorous training. Doing this will hurt your hormonal health.
- Whenever hungry, grab a fruit or a good snack.
- Eat on time.
- Don’t punish yourself, live in the moment and move on.
- Have curd for lunch it helps.
- Stop looking at others' bodies and feel low. Understand you in the process, and you will be fitter too.
- Lose weight to improve your health.
- Ignore the weird diets online, they make you feel better initially and then get you to gain the weight again.
- Eat and don’t starve. Just replace it with good food such as instead of chips, switch to a good egg sandwich or some toast, etc.
- Eat eggs in any form, any day. They keep you fuller. Even potatoes.
I still ate all the junk, but I had reduced how much I would eat. I would eat clean the remaining days. Weight loss isn’t easy, but it isn’t difficult.
